Kids Maintenance Classes

I ❤ My Bike – Children’s maintenance course, an introductory bike maintenance class for children ages 5-11.

Including:

– naming parts of a bike

– bike safety checks

– how to pump up a bike tyre

– introduction to using hand tools

– washing and lubricating a bike

– how to test your brakes

– what I have learned today.

In this class we are not teaching how to repair a bike that is broken but how to look after and maintain your bike and keep it running healthy, including some basic skills which will enable you to fix some of the smaller problems all bike owners experience day to day.

Children should bring their own bike if they can, but if this isn’t possible then don’t worry because we have some children’s bikes that participants can work on in this class.

Upcoming Classes

We normally run kids maintenance classes during the school holidays, keep an eye on the website for the next one. We will also share the info on our social media pages. Facebook and Twitter

We recommend this class for ages 5-11yrs – Aprons, gloves, hand cream and all tools and equipment will be provided.

*There is a £5 session fee, this is for the cycling tuition and to support the running costs of Cycle South Brum. If you are on a low income or struggling with the cost of the course please get in touch to see how we can help. cycling@ecobirmingham.com
