Cycle South Brum are excited to announce this Easter we are going on a family bike ride over to Lapwoth Museum of Geology at Birmingham Uni for their From the Ocean Deep – Family Fun Day – The led bike ride will start from Kings Norton Park where we will set off through some beautiful green spaces for some fun on two wheels, followed by fun activities to learn about the mysteries of the ocean and meet Rory the Dinosaur.
Family Bike Ride – Wednesday 17th April, 10am
This event will involve a short bike ride from Kings Norton Park to the FREE family fun day at Lapwoth Museum of Geology at Birmingham Uni, where there’s lots to see. Free activities/talks including a museum Trail, Arts and Crafts while discovering mysteries of our Ocean.
The ride will be approx 5 miles and have a small bit of canal, a few small roads but it is mostly off-road using cycle paths and parks.
This ride is suitable for all the family and all people-powered transport is welcome including bikes, scooters, trailers, trikes, pushchairs, walking. All ages are welcome.
Booking is essential on all our rides for health and safety purposes. On all of our group rides, the pace will be gentle, we will go at the pace of the slowest rider and participants are free to stop for a rest if they need to
Starting at Kings Norton Park by the playground, setting off promptly at 10am so please arrive early. You should bring a bike and helmet, water, appropriate clothing and footwear, sunblock if necessary, and food if necessary.
You will need your own bike and helmet to take part in the ride.
Please also bring locks to lock up your bike outside while we are inside the museum. (We recommend D-Locks with cables – Click here for info on locking your bike safely)
Please note that the ride will be going one way to Lapworth Museum and you will have to make your own way home.
Booking is essential for health and safety reasons. If you are booking for more than one person please add the correct number of tickets to your cart and tell us the names of all attendees in the booking form.
The ride will go at the pace of the slowest rider and nobody will be left behind.

Can I borrow a bike?
No, bike hire is not available on this ride.
We politely request that children attending group rides wear a helmet. We also recommend that adults wear a helmet, people who cannot wear a helmet for religious or cultural reasons should let us know.

No. You will be sent a reminder email.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn’t match the attendee. Is that okay?
Yes but please make sure you have booked the correct number of places. For example, if your group consists of one adult and two children then please book three places.
