This will be a fantastic opportunity to take in one of Birmingham’s best cycle routes and amazing canal network. Join us for a fun ride to the event while experiencing a lovely route through the city traffic free.

The ride will be led by qualified ride leaders, Approx. 3.5miles – from The Light House Young Peoples centre to the event at Port Loop, the route will be using cycle paths and canals. Suitable for all the family and all people-powered transport is welcome including bikes, scooters, however unfortunately this route will not suit trailers due to canal bridges being bumpy and quite narrow in places. recommended for ages 5 years plus and able to manage a bike ride of 3.5miles+. Please note that the ride will finish at Port Loop, 21 Rotton Park Street, B’ham B16 0AE and you will need to make your own way home.

You will need to have your own Bike and helmet to take part in the ride.

A FREE day of family friendly activity on Sunday 21st July to mark the opening of the new park at Port Loop in Birmingham. Everyone is welcome to join the event for nature activities, an outdoor park library, picnics, crafts, and a very cool drive in cinema zone – where kids will be able to make mini cardboard cars, then ‘drive’ up to watch a film on our outdoor LED screen.

And, outside the park, Rotton Park Street itself will be transformed into a bustling area of play; closed to cars all day it will be divided into a range of playzones with loads of fun activities including a bike, scooter and roller skate zone (bring those wheels kids!), Jump Rope UK’s Double Dutch Zone, a Hula Hoop Zone, Playbox dome building activities and a free zone to which families can bring their own games. There’ll also be a street art area, with two local artists adorning the street with washable paint creations – and guests can join in too.
