If you’re ever in Northfield and you need to pump your tyres up, there is a public bike pump outside the front door of Northfield Ecocentre, 53 Church Road, B31 2LB. The pump is available 24 hours a day, although at night the area isn’t very well lit. The pump is free to use, but feel free to give us a donation either online or by popping into the Ecocentre if we’re open. The photo below shows the best way to position your bike to make sure the valve reaches your wheel.
We also have some bike tools inside the Ecocentre that you can use including bike stands, tools, aprons, chain bath, and many others. You are free to come and use them as long as the Ecocentre is open. We are normally open 10am-3pm Tuesday to Friday, although we are sometimes open outside those hours. It’s best to phone us on 0121 448 0119 to check. The tools are also free to use, but feel free to give us a donation either online or by popping into the Ecocentre if we’re open.
The tools include:
- chain bath, gear cleaning brushes, degreaser, lubricant
- allen keys, spanners, screwdrivers
- bike maintenance stands
- gloves and hand cream
- puncture repair kits and tyre levers

By using our tools and equipment you agree to be responsible for your own health and safety and of other people present at Northfield Ecocentre.
